Since the release of her Debut album Goodies in 2004, American artist Ciara grossed success around the globe with several hit singles. We’re counting down our favorite songs by the “Princess” of Crunk&B.
“Goodies” was Ciara’s debut single from her first album with the same name, which was released in 2004. The single was a critical and commercial success, and it reached the number one spot on the Billboard hot 100 for 7 weeks. “Goodies” also went to number one in the UK, and topped the charts in several countries.
Ciara collaborated on her second single “1, 2 step” with rapper Missy Eliott. The song was a huge success and stayed at number 2 on the Billboard hot 100 for seven weeks.
“Like a Boy” is one of our favorite songs by Ciara, it is taken from her second studio album “Ciara: The Evolution” which went to number one in the US. The RnB track is about how men in relationships can do certain things, but when women act the same it is seen as disrespectful.
Ciara’s third album “Fantasy Ride” received moderate success compared to her previous albums. However, the single “Love Sex Magic” featuring Justin Timberlake earned her commercial success and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
“Paint it, Black” is a song covered by Ciara for the soundtrack of “The Last Witch Hunter”, and it was released in October 2015.
