Alessia Cara just covered Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” and it makes us love her even more.
The Canadian artist dropped her first album Know It All on Friday the 13th, the same day as Justin Bieber dropped his Purpose (and One Direction and many others) but Alessia didn’t have any rivalry driven intentions because she got her guitar and went back to the covering roots to deliver an amazing rendition of Justin’s “Love Yourself.”
The Ed Sheeran written song was released a few days before the album and Alessia learned 3 seconds before her take on it, which is pretty impressive.
The artist was in a cozy sweater and beanie in a bedroom setting when she sang those “my mama don’t like you but she likes everyone” tunes in her charming voice, while convinced there’s a ghost behind her all the time.
Cara has once again proved that she’s the queen of covers with this one. She previously had a take on Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” Drake’s “Hotline Bling” without the dance moves though and Nick Jonas’s “Levels.”
Justin performed the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after Justin Bieber week on Monday November 16.
